Experience
- 2023 - Current
Bioinformatician
Fred Hutch Cancer Center
As a bioinformatician in the Meshinchi lab, I managed the world's largest pediatric AML dataset and co-lead all computational efforts to investigate genomic, transcriptomic and clinical data. My efforts in the Meshinchi lab included diverse computational work from developing sequencing analysis pipelines, germline and somatic variant calling, survival analysis, data visualization and all other bioinformatics related work in the lab.
- 2022 - 2023
Graduate Student Researcher
InVivo Biosystems
Working with InVivo Biosystems I outlined and developed a robust pipeline for analysis of C. elegans RNAseq data to identify transcription factors and regulatory pathways activated in response to drug treatment. To accomplish this, we analyzed patterns of gene expression by leveraging publicly available microarray data to identify 'gene modules'. This data analysis was integrated into a formal document for client ready presentation using Rmarkdown.
- 2019 - 2021
Research Associate
Adaptive Biotechnologies
As a research associate at Adaptive Biotechnologies I was responsible for performing, troubleshooting and refining our TCR characterization assays from genetics material extraction all the way through sequencing. It was here I started using computational tools as I saw the need for automation of a quality control process which was time intensive and error prone that I replaced with a custom Python script.
Volunteer
- 2023 - Present
Student Mentor
Coding for Cancer
Mentored Seattle area high schools from underrepresented backgrounds in basic R programming and application of new skills to example biological problem.
- 2021 - 2020
Education Comittee Member
SoundBio Laboratory
Collaborated with committee members in various STEM fields to create curriculum that was inclusive and accessible to children and adults from all backgrounds.
- 2016 - 2019
Elder Assistant
Whatcom CHORE
Aided an elderly adult with a functional disability in maintaining their independence by up-keeping their residence by performing common chores to meet HUD inspection requirements.
